Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar in Old City, Philly will offer a special prix fixe menu as the official corporate sponsor of “One Day Old” at the Arden Theatre.

Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar, located at 10 S. 2nd Street, will offer a “Dinner and a Show” package beginning September 8 as the official sponsor of the 2016 Fringe Festival play “One Day Old” by Iraisa Ann Reilly. For $60, guests can enjoy a four-course prix fixe dinner plus a ticket to the play about Operation Peter Pan in 1960s Cuba, performed just one block away at the Hamilton Family Arts Center at the Arden Theatre.

Performances are September 8-10 and 15-17 at 7 p.m., and September 11 and 18 at 4 p.m.

The “Dinner and a Show” package can be purchased by making a reservation with Cuba Libre by calling 215-627-0666 or through OpenTable, with mention of the special. Ten-percent of the proceeds from each ticket sold will be donated to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

In its riveting performance, “One Day Old” tells the true story of Operation Peter Pan, an initiative that occurred between 1960 and 1962 which airlifted more than 14,000 Cuban children from Havana to the United States. The story is told through the lens of a dream world, as college freshman Wendy, who feels disconnected from her Cuban roots, encounters a young Cuban refugee named Pedro.
